T300 CPU Upgrade
I have a T300 with a X3363 and would like to upgrade to the X5470. If I buy the X5470 will I need replace my motherboard? I see that the X5470 is available for purchase on Dell's website for the T300. The main reason I would like to upgrade is to get Intel Virtualization Technology support so I can use VMDirectPath on ESXi.

RUSTY.V you can upgrade the PowerEdge T300 to the X5470 Harpertown processor without having to replace or upgrade the motherboard. However as a best practice I recommend updating the system before installing the new processor.

I Have Dell PowerEdge T300 with following CPU HT993-PowerEdge(tm) T300, Quad Core Xeon Pro X3323 (6MB Cache, 2.5Ghz, 1333Mhz) I need to know what is the best processor to upgrade this computer ?
Can I use following processor to upgrade
3.16GHZ INTEL XEON X5460 QUAD CORE 1333MHZ 12MB L2 CACHE SOCKET LGA771 SLANP
