T430 watchdog restarting server

Hi

I have a dell t430 server which has started randomly restarting and hanging at post to tell me the watchdog has restarted the server.

Can anyone help me work out why it's doing this it's running openmediavault (Debian based) bios and idrac are on the latest versions from the download site. And the board is running in uefi mode (unsure if this is the issue)

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Bios version is 2.11.0

Lifecycle controller is 2.70.70.70

I've tried looking for where I could disable the watchdog in the bios but couldn't find anything obvious and what I saw online about it I think it's allready disabled strangely.

Hi,

You would probably already know OpenMediaVault isn't tested and verified as a working OS for PowerEdge. I'm unsure if would be a hardware issue rather than it's on the BIOS Watchdog settings. Could you check if disabling watchdog timer would be able to help on your situation. By the way, what's your BIOS version?

Maybe, I'm not too sure, if a OS update would help?

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi,

Based on the user guide, that would be in Integrated Devices: https://dell.to/30ipH3R

By default, it's Enabled.

It says in the link by default it is disabled which would match what I saw.

Hi,

I did look into some articles, some BIOS updates reflects it as enable in default. If it's disable on your system, and it's occurring the issue that you're having, then try enabling it to monitor if it's helping on your issue.

Let me know if the settings are helping.
