USB Flash Drive problem with Dell PowerEdge 2450

I have a Dell PowerEdge 2450 that has Windows 2000 server loaded with all the current updates. I have been attempting to use a 2GB USB flash drive and I encounter the ominous blue screen of death. The error states that the operating system does not recognize the new hardware. I usually have to reboot the entire server after this occurs. I would like to use my USB flash drive and other usb devices with this server. Has anyone has similar experiences and does anyone have a solution to this problem?

The resolution is a semi powered hub.

Several dells dont work with Large flash drives due to not getting 500ma of power from the USB ports.

Note that the above el cheapo totally portable hub is USB 1.1 only so it will give the high speed device plugged into low speed warning but it works just fine.

If you want USB 2.0 then get a Cyberpower CPH420MP battery powered USB 2.0 hub.  Got mine a Walmart. ROFL.
