Unknown device SCSI Processor Device

I upgraded Embedded System Managment Controller successfuly but on reboot i get found new device "DELL 1x6 SCSI BP SCSI Processor Device". Now there are two downloads in my support page in SCSI non-raid controllers and there are 2 there i tried them both as it says to in the readme.txt on them but windows doesnt accept the driver.

I have a power edge 2400

And i am using windows 2000 proffesional on this server.

This is not a hardware error, simply Win2000's way of identifying hardware. The "Driver" does nothing more than put a name to the "Unknown" device.

There is one "workaround":

Win2000 will not autodetect the backplane, but if you choose Update Driver > Select from List > Show all Hardware > choose any of the backplanes in the list.

I have a PE 2400 as well, and tried to update drivers in Windows Server 2003 to the latest version - and got this same error upon reboot. I'm not sure how to fix it.

Hi Eric,

Try this driver, let me know if it works:

Dell Backplane, Utility, Windows 2000, v. X05, A03
Filename: BP-A03.zip (6 KB)

Same issue as the others 2400 running 2000 new drivers not working.  The error when attempting to install is the this driver contains no info about your device
