Upgrade Basic IDRAC8 to IDRAC9 License invalid
Hi,
I have a Dell T-430. I am trying to upgrade IDRAC8 to IDRAC9. I am getting the error "LIC012: The license file does not exist. Re-import the license."
Where can I get his license file? When I go to License, I have a green check box.

Hi Daku7,
it is not possible to "upgrade" an iDRAC from one version to another so from 8 to 9 is not possible.
The only options to "upgrade" are from an iDRACx Basic to Express to Enterprise where the x stands for the version of the iDRAC 8 or 9.
The license was purchased together with the system.
To update the firmware of an iDRAC8 to 2.70.70.70 use this download link:
https://dell.to/2XELL7I
To update the firmware of an iDRAC9 to 4.10.10.10 use this link:

Stefan

Did you happen to backup the previous license before attempting to upgrade the iDracs previously? Also, do you know what license should be present?
Lastly, if you haven't had a license, you can find the trial versions here.

No, I did not do a backup for the previous license. I have the Basic License. I do not want to get the trial version as it will expire.
How do I get the Basic License file?

It would have been sent with the original server order. If you don’t have that can you private message me the service tag?

Can you let me know how you are updating iDRAC firmware? Are you using Update Package (iDRAC-with-Lifecycle-Controller_Firmware_DNH17_WN32_2.70.70.70_A00.EXE) if yes can you download "iDRAC_2.70.70.70_A00.exe" from below link and try. Once you downloaded you can extract firmimg.d7 file from this (iDRAC_2.70.70.70_A00.exe is self extraction exe having firmimg.d7). Once you extracted, you can use firmimg.d7 file to update iDRAC FW to 2.70.70.70

So after upgrading iDRAC with Lifecycle Controller, 2.05.05.05 to IDRAC with Lifecycle Controller V., 2.70.70.70 the FAN is running very high or fast. I have the onboard video disabled and have an AMD W7000 GPU in the PCI slot. The GPU is tested as per https://www.dell.com/community/PowerEdge-Hardware-General/RE-Poweredge-T430-GPGPU-Support/td-p/6117308

Hi Daku7,
our engineering is aware of this behavior and is working on the next release 2.75.75.75 - this will fix it.
For now, we do not have any ETA when it will be released.
You might downgrade to 2.63.60.61 (https://dell.to/2XrDDZs) as this was the last version before 2.70.70.70 was released.
