433

February 12th, 2022 14:00

Using the Dell Open Manage app to access poweredge r730 inside home network.

As above. Im just coming from an older Proliant ml310 which i could use the iLo app to access the ilo card on my ML going in through an open forwarded port on 443 to connect to my Proliant. Im in the middle of decomissioning that now and switching to my r730. Ive got 443 open but when i add the ip to the open manage app i get an SSL error (which i expect to see) but it wont let me go past that. The error that i get is

Failure Check input values and device network settings and try again. If i try to go in through a pc externally on a webpage i get a "bad error" displayed. Is there a walkthrough on how to get this setup.??

Hi, a question for you. Did you open 1311 port?

If you are trying to access Open Manage Server Administrator (OMSA) then default port is 1311 not 443. You can try accessing it with port 1311. Can you share screen shot of the error you are getting?

Just to add i think im getting the cert error on 443 because its 443 thats open. I get the same message but instantly if i switch to 1311. Oh im running PFSense as my router if that helps.

Hi - first and foremost thanks for taking the time out to help. Ive got both 443 and 1311 open on my router (for testing) at the moment. The best i can get on port 443 is the cert warning in yellow (to be expected) as ive got no cert set but thats fine (i do have another question on that later assuming i can get connected). I tap on "yes" to bypass the warning but then get the error "Failure - Check input values and device network settings and try again" (this is on my phone)
