VRTX
Which MD do I use in VRTX MD1200 or MD1400?
For MD1200 I use Perc H810?
For MD1400 I use Perc H830?

Hi,
Yes, those are the correct cards for those storage devices. There is also the Shared PERC-E which allows you to share the storage among all of the blades.

The question actually would be can I use both MD1400 and MD1200 as expansion of my VRTX?

If you use the H810 or the H830 they are dedicated to a single blade and not shared to both of them.

Do I have to purchase two Perc H810 so the two blades access the MD1200 then correct?

Use the external shared PERC, it allows for multiple blades to access the same storage.

Josh i have a customer that bought the MD1400 to expand their VRTX chassis as the 1200/1220 are no longer sold. can they map this to multiple blades by using a shared PERC? If so what shared perc do i need to look at?

Hello Nick_Bailey316,
With a MD1400 it can only be connected to a single server. Here is the link to the support matrix & if you look on page 6 it lists the server limits. https://dell.to/38IlHyZ
