Virtual Machine won't run after windows update

I performed Windows Server 2012r2 monthly updates on our PowerEdge T620 and after restart the VM would not start. The indications were 'FS-DC-1 failed to restore virtual machine state.  Virtual machine 'FR-DC-1 could not be started because the hypervisor is not running."

I entered BIOS and changed the Lifecycle Controller from recovery mode to enabled and restarted but the VM would still not run.

Eventually I narrowed it down to Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5009624) causing the problem.  Everything runs fine with this update removed.

Has anyone else seen this problem?  If so is there a resolution so that the VM will run with all current Windows updates?

Thank you,

Tom

It is a well-known problem. Solution: Wait for MS to fix it (or skip the update).

I installed KB5010794 and the VM runs properly. Should KB5009624 be installed also or does KB5010794 include all the security fixes contained in KB5009624.  The Microsoft website wasn't clear about the proper procedure.
