What does it mean when linux crashes on a dell r610

Hi Everyone!

So, I decided to go for linux mint 19.1 on a Dell r610. But, when every time, on the 3rd or 4th reboot, the system says, "linux has crashed. You are now running in fallout mode."

Linux does boot up until the 3rd or 4th reboot when it doesn't and gives me the crash note. I think the issue might be that the Dell R610 doesn't support Linux mint 19.1 but I don't know for sure.

I am new at Dell Servers and would like the answer as simple as possible.

Also, Would Unbuntu Server Edition also work?

Thanks

Quickest answer: not compatible, try something else.

If you aren't experienced troubleshooting Linux issues, I wonder why you would use it. Should you be?

Likely a driver issue someplace.

Not sure about the R610 but I have installed Linux Mint 19.1 on a PowerEdge T310 with no hitches what so ever..

I'm fairly versed in PC hardware but this was first attempt with REAL server hardware.

This was very used hardware, I did have a crash after installing Mint and running acouple of days and one of the old raid drives failed.  I removed the raid config and went straigh ATA with the one good one after reformating it.

I removed the one bad drive, install an ssd and reinstalle Linux Mint x64 on that, and used the old spinner to install Windows 10 on Virtualbox, and had another spinner and installed Virtual box Windows 7 on it.

I opinion would be you have some hardware issue or a bad install disk or file, try another disk or reburn an ISO.

Also you may check the BIOS for update and settings.
