acpi: spcr unexpected spcr access width. defaulting to byte size

Short question.

I have UBUNTU 18.04 and 20.04 installed on a Dell R710.  I always get this message at startup, although it does not seem to affect the system at all:

acpi: spcr unexpected spcr access width. defaulting to byte size.

I found an article that says:

BIOS support for SPCR table:With the exception of thePowerEdge 1550, all fifth-generation and newer PowerEdgeservers support the Serial Port Console Redirection (SPCR)table. The SPCR table provides EMS with information aboutthe out-of-band management port as well as related configu-ration details. If the Dell PowerEdge server does not supportthe SPCR table, administrators must provide the EMS config-uration parameters and information about the out-of-bandmanagement port to the Windows Server 2003 OS by usingthe bootcfgcommand.3The same command may be used to change the default configuration of EMS even if the serversupports the SPCR table

Hi,

Ubuntu support would be limited for me, as it's not documented as a supported OS for PowerEdge R710. I couldn't find any internal source for your issue. I'll try my best to help out.

Is the server's firmware all up to date? How is the OS installed?
