iDRAC 9 Express, cannot change iDRAC IP address R240

Hello.

I've inherited a client's server infrastructure which was configured and maintained poorly by a previous contractor. The servers are R230 and R240 respectively and are running iDRAC versions 8 and 9 and all are licenced with 'Express'. On the iDRAC 8's, I can modify iDRACs ipv4 settings without issues but on version 9 any changes made to network settings don't take effect.

I am trying to setup static ip addresses through webgui; the settings are "applied/saved", confirmed by a text prompt but both iDRAC web interface and the LCD panel still display 0.0.0.0 addresses. The same occurs if I try to set the ip from said LCD panel and trying to do said configurations during POST. Rebooting has no effect either, yet during POST, I can see my specified and applied ip address displayed on an external monitor connected to the server - yet the address does not fixate on this but instead reverts to 0.0.0.0

What could be issue here? These servers are active and used in production and reflashing BIOS and reinstall isn't a feasible option, as I understand that this might be my only remedy if no other help is offered.

Are you on the latest iDRAC firmware?

You can reset iDRAC and see whether that fixes the issue. You can also try to reset iDRAC to default and reconfigure iDRAC. Please note resetting iDRAC to default will reset all changes to default and you need to configure it again from scracth.

If these are not solving the issue, then as Charles mentioned you can try updating iDRAC and check.
