Hi, i have use certbot to get my certificates which are wildcard, but idrac does not seem to think it valid certificate when I try and upload it. Esxi has accepted in find and it running on a subdomain as well.

Can you share the steps on generating and uploading certificate to iDRAC? Are you creating a CSR from iDRAC and uploading the signed certificate or creating certificate outside iDRAC and uploading it. iDRAC 6 CSR does not support wild card certificate

create the certificate outside of idrac, as using let encrypt.
What I can do is request a no wildcard cert for the full domain will give that a go first.
Thanks Damien

The package named "Open Manage Server Administrator" and exists for Windows and Linux. Sometime there is a package named "iDRAC Tools" which contains racadm... we use it directly on ESXi for example.
If youre on Windows.... you can install it everywhere and than just pull the racadm.exe and the single libarg*.dll file from it and move it to your favorite admin pc.
Regards,
Joerg
