max RAM for T410: 64GB or 128GB ?

Question

Maximum RAM for T410 / support for 16GB RDIMMS ?

According to the "Tech Specs" page for the T410 the maximum ram is 128GB (8 slots, 16GB dimms stated as supported).

But according to that model T410 support pages (and parts pages) the maximum ram is 64GB.

I called DELL Tech Support twice to check which one was correct.

First responder stated that the T410 did not support 16GB RDIMMS and max ram was 64GB ( 8 slots, each with 8GB RDIMMS).

Second responder stated that the T410 at release time supported max 64GB (as 16GB RDIMMS were not being manufactured at the time), but if I upgraded to the latest BIOS (1.11.0) then I should be able to have 128GB RAM and use 16GB RDIMMS.

I notice separately that third party suppliers also offer differing advice about the max RAM for this model (kingston sells 16GB RDIMMS for it, while crucial sells only 8GB RDIMMS for it and states the 64GB ram).

Is anyone using 16GB RDIMMS in a T410, or has anyone got T410s with more than 64GB RAM installed?

The T410 supports 128GB with 16GB DIMM's with a minimum BIOS level. If someone had problems getting it to work, they were using incompatible RAM or did not update their BIOS. It is clearly documented in several places:

Third-party sites listing 8GB/64GB are out of date.

Mor2,  The T410 DOES support 16gb dimms now. Anything newer than BIOS 1.5 should support the larger dimms.  So the 2nd responder was correct. Let me know if this helps.
