processor upgrading of DELL Power Edge R430
Hi Everyone
I have DELL Power Edge R430 and it's running on single socket processor E 2603 V3. As per DELL that this server is support E 2600 V4 family.
Know the questions are below:
If I upgrade the processor from E 2603 V3 to E 2630 V4 what causes I will faced or it will work fine without any issue of BIOS and Clock?
What precautions I need to take before doing this activity?
Is there any need to update BIOS and changes in Clock? (if yes) How can I do that?
In the server there are multiple Virtual Machines are running if I change the processor so if will effect my VM's?

Before upgrading processor you need to update BIOS and iDRAC to latest firmware level. You can download latest BIOS and iDRAC FW for R430 from below links
BIOS
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-in/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=1vr7t&oscode=w12r2&productcode=poweredge-r430
iDRAC
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-in/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=dpv0r&oscode=w12r2&productcode=poweredge-r430
You can use iDRAC only to update BIOS and iDRAC. Refer below link for more details. Upgrading BIOS need a reboot of the server.
