qlogic 2462 CK compatible with dell R740

Dell has offered Qlogic cards in their servers for years (15+ years probably).

However, the 2462 looks to be a 4Gbit dual port FC HBA. This is an older model (looks like possibly released in 2010) and I suspect that they never tested their 14th generation servers with cards of that age, but instead tested 8Gbit and 16Gbit HBAs (from Qlogic).

What this means is that there's a good chance it will work just fine, but there's no guarantee (you'd have to try it unless someone else posts that they tried it and it worked for them).
