server shows error

Thanks for the replay . Pls note that now the server and the pci card is working fine without any issue when the error message is their . Then How come the card or the board problem according to the error message . Pls advice

Hi,

The PCI card is most likely just slightly outside of specification. Not enough to cause a complete failure, but just enough to trigger the alert.

I did to switch off the server. Then put in on again . Now it is solid
blue. I am woundering if I restart it will come orange or not. But what you mean it is outside of specification.

I mean the PCI card had a voltage or issued a signal that the sensors did not expect. The sensor then triggers the LED to change color.

Sometimes rebooting the server is all that is necessary to resolve the issue. Other times reseating the PCI card will correct the issue. If necessary we will replace the (Dell) parts under your warranty contract.

I am also having the same problem however I also get the error e13f4 which also seems to be related if i remove the power from the machine and start it up again I get no errors however when I do a reboot I get the errors coming up. We have already had the entire system replaced once because of these errors any ideas on how to resolve this issue

we have exactly the same problem.

On our system (a PowerEdge 4600 with an Adaptec 39160 SCSI adapter used to connect an external PV120T, system bios rev A09 and o.s. RedHat 7.3 with already applied the driver aic7xxx-6.2.8 for RH 7.3).

When we reboot the system we get:

E13F4 - PCI PARITY
E13F5 - PCI SYSTEM

and the system LED blinking orange.

If we shut the system down removing completely  the power it (generally) comes up with system LED blue. 

We have already had the Adaptec 39160 SCSI adapter substituted but without any change in the behaviour.

I would like to ask if, beyound the substitution of the mother board, the problem could be caused by one of the memory modules (4 * 1Gbyte modules).

and still get orange light

We are running VMware ESX / Red Hat 7.2 (2.4.9) so the aic7xxx 6.2.8 for kernel 2.4.7 can't be installed

We're currently disabling the on-board SCSI, installing VMware ESX then re-enabling the on-board SCSI

I should have said we have an internal tape drive that is connected to the on-board scsi
that we are using to do tar backups of our vmdks.

Yes - The orange light stays off !

Just out of curiosity, Are you currently using either of the embedded SCSI controllers?  In other words, is there a reason why you have to keep the onboard stuff enabled in BIOS while running vmware?
