I have got a Power Edge R410

Hi All,

I have a PowerEdge R410 server given to me by my work.

I would like to install Windows 2012 Server on it.

I was told Dell provides server owners a free installation of this, is that even true, I have looked online, but can't see a download for this?

Untrue. You must pay for a license, even if it comes with the machine. If your machine has a license COA on it, then you are entitled to run THAT OS, but you must obtain your own installation media (the evaluation from Microsoft will work, and Dell does not offer Server OS downloads). If your machine does not have a license COA on it, or has a COA for an OS other than 2012 R2, then you would have to purchase the appropriate license.
