Licensing for PowerPath on AIX VIO & LPARs
HI,
If we have an 8 CPU P-series server where VIOs boots from SAN through the VIO interfaces with PowerPath, and there are multiple LPARs using NPIV & PowerPath, how is this licensed?
Does each LPAR and VIO consume a PowerPath CPU license?

hi Rohan - PowerPath licensing neither counts nor cares about LPARs or VIO servers.
So an 8-CPU P-series server would consume 1 PP host license and 8 CPU socket licenses.
