Adding Powervault MD1000 to Dell PowerEdge 2950 under Ubuntu 8.04
Hi All,
My group just purchased a Powervault MD1000 with 9 1TB HD. We want to add it to our existing Poweredge 2950 running Ubuntu 8.04LTS. 2950 has already a RAID5 array with 6 1TB HD. We use a PERC 6/E as the interface. At this moment, it is already connected to the server. My question is:
How to make the MD1000 usable by the server? Hopefully without doing data backup and reformat things.

Unless you figured out a way to get OMSA to work on Ubuntu, you're going to have to reboot and go into the PERC bios to configure the raid for the PERC6E.
