POWER Vault MD3200i Hard Disk Capacities

Hi.

i want to know if i can use 6 or 8 TB Hard drives with the MD3200i.

Also is there any possibility to work with SATA Hard disk or only SAS Disks?

Hello gsiomos76,

Yes you can use both 6TB & 8TB drives in your MD3200i. Here is a link to the support matrix and if you look on page 27-29 it list all the supported 6TB & 8TB drives. http://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/Common/MD32XX_MD36XX_SupportMatrix_en-us.pdf

Please let us know if you have any other questions

Note that the drive has to be SAS and has to have the Dell Certified Enterprise marking on it. A retail or non-Dell drive of the same model listed in the PDF that was linked will not work in an MD3k-series array (or in an MD1k-series that is connected to an MD3k (MD1k attached to a PERC is a different story)).

Hello,

there are a lot of Dell SAS drives out there wich are not listed in the Document with the correct Dell P/N, but with the same Model Number... work these drives?
