Dell PowerVault 114x - Error Code 6, tape won't eject.

I can't seem to locate a definitive explanation in regards to this issue.

We use a Dell PowerVault 114x for our backup needs.  The other day, I swapped the tape over, and once the tape was loaded, it started displaying the error code "6" on the display.  When I press the manual eject, nothing happens.

Anyone able to shed any light on what's going on?

Hello Eddie Smith,

What you will need to do is to power off the 114X & remove the SCSI cable.  Then you will want to turn on the 114X & see if it ejects the tape out. If it doesn’t then you can hold in the eject button for 30 seconds & see if it removes the media.  If media still won’t come out then if you PV114X is still under warranty then I would open a case so that the drive can be replaced.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, that worked a treat.  Tape ejected, and everything is functioning normally again.
