Is the PowerVault MD3800i still supported?

Hello! Is the PowerVault MD3800i still supported? Has it reached "End of Life" status? Thanks for your support.

Hello kimadjet,

The MD3800i is still supported.  It reached end of selling life at the end of January 2019.  Are you having an issue with your MD3800i or were you looking at purchasing an MD3800i?

Hello!

We're having an issue with one of our MD3800is. We switched to our failover datacenter (also an MD3800i) and we're trying to repair our main site. The thing is, our warranty has expired (we were facing some issues renewing it) and we're wondering if components would still be available for purchase should something goes wrong.

What are our best options, now, to get back to our main datacenter ASAP.

We still have replacement parts for your MD3800i.  Which part on your MD3800i is failing? Do you happen to have a support bundle from your MD3800i so that we can review it to see what is going on with your MD3800i?

Further to this question, I have a customer with 5 MD3860i (3 at one site and 2 at another). While I gather that the MD3800 line is no longer able to be purchased, The customer is in need of additional space (approximately 50TB at each site). One of the potential options is to add a shelf at each site to provide additional space.

Can you provide a date when the MD3800 will reach End of Support?

Hello Roger,

The MD34xx/38xx will reach end of support February 28th, 2024.  Customers can renew their MD34xx/38xx Series service contracts up to invoice date + 5 years.

kindly please advise whether my understanding is correct.

customer bought : POWERVAULT MD3820F on 21-Apr-18, therefore they can extend the warranty only until 21 apr 23? 
if they can extent, until what year the latest they can extent.? is it February 28th, 2024.?

Hello,

No, that is not correct. 
The customer could purchase the warranty covering the system until April 21, 2023.
Normally, it is not possible to have the product covered by the warranty after this date.
