One disk group - Several LUNs vs Several disk groups- 1 LUN per DiskGrup

In my scenario I have to configure an SQL Server Cluster using a MD3000 as shared storage (15 spindles).
I've planned to use all capacity for database use.
When using an 8 core server it's recomended to create 8 physical disks and "stripe" the database over the 8 disks (leaving additional separate disks for Logs an TempDB).

I want a RAID 10 configuration for all disks.
In this case which is the better choice?

1- Create one disk group including all the spindles (14) , configuring then a RAID 10 and create 8 virtual disks over this disk group.

2- Create (for example ) 3 disk groups 4 disks each, configure RAID 10 and then create 3 virtual disks on each disk group.

Cheers,
Felix
