RD1000 Firmware Image Corrupt

I have an RD1000 SATA unit that was moved to a new Windows 2016 server.  It had the 0053_A05 firmware so I tried to update to the 0056_A06 firmware.  The updater failed partway through.  The RD1000 Utility reports that the firmware is 0056 but "Firmware image corrupt - Need to reload firmware".  I've restarted the server and tried multiple times to install both the 0056 and 0053 firmware but the utility fails after a little while.

Any ideas to get stable firmware on the device?

Out of desperation, I moved the drive back to the old server. As it was a pain to reattach the SATA cable, I attached it to the DVD SATA and ran the firmware update utility and the firmware updated successfully. I put it back in the new server and although the firmware reported fine, the drive failed a write diagnostic. In the end, I determined the SATA cable was faulty replaced it and it is working fine.
