Hi @ezyoN,

Searched on UserBenchmark and some builds of T5500 installed with RX 570. It should be fine.

Precision T5500 Spec Sheet.pdf has a list of compatible GPU's.

Yes, I know that but I don't need a graphic card for work in CAD it's just for web, movies and a little gaming.

I'm just want to be sure that it can get other type of graphic as the ASUS Radeon RX 570.

It's this the best CPU for the T5500?

Intel Xeon X5690 @ 3.47GHz

As I said, I don't need it for CAD just for web, movies and some gamimg...

Thanks in adavance.

Yes, the fastest one among all 6-core CPUs on LGA 1366 socket.

What's your existing one? If any model at 3.XXGHz, may make no big difference on general web browsing and gaming.

I've got the Intel Xeon E5530 and the benchmark that I've made it's a huge different between them.

The X5690 it's the best or I can get a better one?

This is a full benchmark for my computer, what's wrong with this?

CPU Socket on motherboard of your T5500 is fixed and cannot be changed. And X5690 is the fastest 6-core CPU on LGA 1366 socket. Therefore, yes, X5690 is the top limit for T5500. Look at some builds on UserBenchmark. Most X5690 builds with CPU scroe at 8X while others below 7X. However, CPU may not be the main problem of your system. Check out this result which runs with an E5520 but still got a decent marks.

Background CPU at 12% is quite abnormal. A healthy system usually keeps below 5%, and ideally at 1%~2%. Try to clean up your Windows and kills any unnecessary programs that running at the background.

@bmcowboy you're saying that I can't change my CPU E5530 for another one?

"CPU Socket on motherboard of your T5500 is fixed and cannot be changed."

How do you know that I can't change it?

I will clean my windows and kill any programs in the background and test it again and post the result.

Excuse me for any inconvenience and thanks for your help.

@ezyoN it's talking about the SOCKET only, dude. Socket is fixed but CPU which plug on it can be varies provide that it fits the socket type.

No need to be sorry, bro. I know how it feel when you know your desktop not performing as what it should be. Hopefully X5690 helps. Good luck! ^^

@bmcowboy Thank you so much for your help.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience but I don't have much experience and I don't want to screw this up.
I will search in the internet to buy the X5690 at the best price.
