Loud Dell T5600 workstation PCI fan
Hello,
I am a happy user of a Dell T5600 workstation however, I find it too loud even when idling. It is hard to say if it is normal or not because it was always like this. I ran a hardware diagnostic and everything looks ok.
The front lower fan (PCI fan) is the loudest fan from my computer. I tried unplugging this one when running and the computer then gets dead quiet. My question is what is the default speed for the PCI fan ? Mine runs 1800RPM whereas all other fans from RAM and CPU run at 1000 RPM.
Cheers

I've exactly same problem (feature?).
Had T3610 for 2 weeks and it was noticeably quiterer than the T5810.
With T5810, when idle:
-CPU fan runs at 1000rpm
-Both memory fans run at 600rpm
-PCI fan runs at ca. 1600rpm, making it loud.
I tried downgrading BIOS, changing GPU from GTX1060 to Quadro, nothing helped.
I also tried both auto/low fan speed settings in BIOS.
I would really like it if the PCI fan would run at eg. 600rpm when idle.
Is there any way to somehow lower the idle rpm fan speed? No Speedfan please - the rpm of the fans would get stuck at fixed value and my PC would throttle under load.
