Precision T5600 + Tesla M40
Hello,
I am attempting to install Tesla M40 GPU accelerator into Precision T5600 but with installed system gets hung up in POST with error code 2. Per this Dell Support Article, I have set PCI MMIO Space Size to "Large". Other similar forum posts point to setting to "Above 4G decoding" and "Disabling CSM" or "Enabling Secure Boot" but I do not see any options in the BIOS Settings menu to change these parameters. Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated, or is the Tesla M40 simply incompatible with this MB?
My setup:
BIOS: Revision A19
OS: Windows 10 Pro
CPU: 2x E5-2687W
RAM: 8x16GB 1600MHz DDR3
GPU: Nvidia Quadro 4000 (looking to upgrade as well)
Storage: 1TB M2 NVME SAMSUNG EVO 970 SDD, 250GB SATA3 HP S700 SSD
PSU: 675W (have ordered 825W version)

On 5820 there is a bug of BIOS getting non-bootable when you replace ANY graphics adapter.
After switching/adding GPU boards, reset the bios with battery. There is another useful option of "os recovery mode", or something like that. After 4 failed attempts it boots in fail-safe mode allowing you to tune BIOS, but not resetting previous settings... it records the new GPU board PCI footprint at that time, so the next boot would succeed.
So,I am not sure, but you cold try resetting BIOS with the battery.

Andy812,
Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it did not work for me nor has any other potential solution I've tried. It seems that either I have a defective graphics card or it is not compatible.

I'm trying to boot a k80 in a T3600 and having similar issues. I've upgraded the BIOS to A18 and have a green LED on the k80 with the 635W power supply (no other cards). Can this work using a similar reset of BIOS or any other ideas?

Hello Yak,
I have a similar setup and get the same led 2 error after I power on. Do you get some news about this issue?
Thanks
Gonzalo

I was never able to resolve the issue with M40 GPU accelerator or a K80 that I tried. I returned and opted for a Quadro M6000 which is working great.
