Precision 5550 poor Wi-Fi on Intel WiFi 6 AX201

Have a new Precision 5550 equipped with a wifi chip Intel WiFi 6 AX201
Now you would expect a £3200 laptop would come with a first class wifi chip but it seems like I'm wrong!

The wifi connect is very very poor, using already the latest Intel drivers but nothing has changed. The signal doesn't go higher than 120Mbps whereas a Latitude 7480 equipped with an Intel AC 8265 on the same spot goes up and over 600Mbps.

This is clearly either a driver issue or a hardware issue with the AX201 chipset.

Anyone here experiencing the same problem?

to provide extra details I'm using driver version 21.120.2.11 and the speed still

I have the same problem with my new Dell Precision 5550.

I only reach 195 Mbit/s although the router (a Fritzbox) indicates that a maximum of 1733 Mbit/s is possible.

Other devices achieve much more on the same WLAN router.

Is there a solution for this problem?

I have the same exact issue. Al drivers are up to date, but the laptop is unusable due to very low wi-fi signal perceived. I must connect my laptop in wi-fi to a small repeater VAR11N_300 positioned at 30 cm from the laptop that find a good signal from my zxhn h388x that is at 5 meters from my laptop! ANY other PC and mobile device in the same pint have a wi-fi signal strength very good from the zxhn h388x.

The speed is less than 18 MB/s ad the connection crashes often for signal loss. If I put the Laptop 1 meter from the zxhn h388x signal is excellent and sped about 100 MB/s!!!!

I'm really disappointed for the very bad quality of WiFi device in a laptop of this level!

Please provide a solution that it is not updating drivers. ALL drivers and Bios are up-to-date.

Thanks

Just got my new Dell Precision 5550 laptop, and having same issue with Wi-Fi. 5 Ghz - not connected at all, 2.4 Ghz - speed somewhere at 10-20 Mbits.

Nearby my old one 5years old Dell, which runs wi-fi 5x-10x times faster.

The problem happens when I'm working with docking station connected to external monitors and closed laptop, the wi-fi connection drops significantly.

Any possible solution?

Yes, I think the antennas are in the screen frame so the WiFi is weaker when the laptop is closed. I'm also having the same issue when laptop closed and connected to external monitors. Definitely not an issue with drivers and related software.

I have the same problem with three laptops Precision 5550. The WiFi signal is weak, the transmission speed makes it impossible to work. Sometimes the wireless connection is interrupted.

Laptops were connected to different access points and the effect was the same each time. Next to them were laptops (also from Dell) located at the same distance from the router - they were working normally.

All drivers are up to date. They were downloaded by Dell Command Update or from Intel's website. The BIOS is also up to date
