Precision 7530 Thunderbolt NVM upgrade fails
Hi,
The Thunderbolt Firmware Update (4.56.102.016, A11) fails towards the end of the process.
The laptop is plugged in to power source, no devices are connected to TB3 ports.
BIOS version 1.13.1
Windows 10 2004 build 19041.329
Thunderbolt Controller Driver 17.4.79.510, A12 (current NVM Firmware version 23)

Hi,
The problem in this case seems to be on the Windows side - after several trials on several Windows versions I could notice that the firmware installer works correctly on version 1809 but fails on newer versions.
One important aspect is that the Windows images used were not the Dell OEM versions. Dell Support could not replicate this issue on the OEM images.
The resolution seems to be the Dell Command | Update application that manages the installation of BIOS, firmware, driver and software updates. Using Dell Command | Update I could install all required firmware updates without any issues. Also, the application regularly checks for new driver/firmware versions, therefore it's the recommended method for keeping Dell clients updated.
