The WiFi module suddenly goes into the OFF state

Hello,

For a few weeks I have been observing strange phenomena: suddenly something is wrong in my system, this is manifested by 3 signs:

WiFi module suddenly goes into the OFF state
USB ports (all) stop recognizing external drives when plugged in (although external drives plugged in at time of failure continue to work)
tools that have to do with the driver system, once launched, do not go all the way, e.g.:
- Intel-9x60-826x-7265-3165-7260-Bluetooth-Legacy-Driver_PDYP9_WIN_20.60.0_A22.exe
- Network_Driver_3F0RX_WN32_10.0.0.341_A05.exe
- Intel-Driver-and-Support-Assistant-Installer.exe

Any suggestions ?

P.S. My system is: Dell Precision M4800, Windows 10.

Precision M4800 is an almost 10 year old machine, any issue could be experienced from wear and tear. If the problem was caused by motherboard, nothing much you can do as replacement cost could get you a newer machine.

Hopefully it could be minor, at components level, or software issue. Suggest the followings:

For hardware, replace CMOS battery and/or performing RTC reset. Check and update your machine to the latest BIOS firmware.
For software, backup all data, perform a clean install of operating system (Windows 10). Reinstalling your system drivers following the correct order excluding all the bloatware apps (no Dell utility apps).

Other unrelated suggestion, adding/replacing an mSATA or a 2½" SSD will significantly improving the performance to your system.
