Upgrade the screen on Dell Precision 7540 from 1920x1080 to 3840x2160
I know this is possible by replacing the screen and the connector. What I need to know is the actual name of the connector. I wanted the 1920x1080 screen but I wanted a glossy screen for design work and since they didn't offer it I for sure I would be able to find a replacement but I have yet to do so. Laptopscreen.com and and Screen Country both have one but it is not the 100% SRGB and I will not replace with a lesser screen. As many options as they give us and the and they don't have an option for glossy display. I use Linux and in KDE I was just wanting to stick with normal HD screen on account of scaling but now since it seems there is no other choice I will have to upgrade to UHD screen to get glossy. I have a few questions.
Can Dell not cross reference my Dell Precision 7540 with other screens and find me a glossy display???
Is it possible to take the anti glare off the screen I have ???
Can Dell order me a replacement ???
The laptop is new and I wanted to keep the factory screen as is and just add another screen ya know so I would have both. Can anyone help me what options I have left.
I would like to ask another question.
Does no out of band system management not also disable the Intel ME ????
Thanks
