1250c Mysterious Printer Jam - Fixed!

Question

If you cannot see any paper in the paper path, but still have blinking yellow paper jam light, here is something to check. In my case, there was a band of paper stuck at the top of the back of the printer -well out of sight and impossible to spot.    It was jammed between the fuser and roller pretty good.  The way you can get access to the top is fairly simple. The plastic bezels at the top of the printer actually just pull away - they are notched at the bottom - remove the left most one as you face the front of the printer - there is a small one on the right rear too.  There is not a bezel on the right - it' just part of the door.  To get to the front screws of the top cover I believe you remove the front bezel - again by gently lifting it up with flat screwdriver until it pops off. Then remove the TWO front screws that hold the top of the unit to the front.  from the back, the top is 'latched' at the back with some small plastic posts, so gently lift the front and it should lift off from the back.  There will be a small yellow wire harness that connects the control panel to the printer.  You can either disconnect ot at the cover or leave it connected - just guide the wires out a bit for some slack so you can just stand the top up vertically on the side of the printer. Next, focus on the back rear, you'll see the paper glide - lots of plastic at the top - near the fuser. There are two screws that hold this unit in place - don't remove them unless you need to.  Next, release this guide by lifting the two blue levers at the back (the one the instructions give you to fix the jam, but this time you may actually see the problem) - this releases the roller tension and you can use a set of pliers or tweezer to remove the paper you'll undoubtedly find in there.   I did undo the screws and gently lift this assembly away a bit to get better access. Reverse above to put back together, the last thing you re-install should be the front top bezel I believe. Hi

my 1250c stopped working, today, for no apparent reason. The exclamation mark went solid orange. I can see no paper, but... Would you be able to post a video showing what you did, as I don't seem to be able to just lift bits, and I'm quite scared of destroying it all

That won't be possible, but someone did point out that with their model, they didn't have any screws in the front:

Hi I just wanted to say thanks for this. My model must be slightly newer as there are no screws at the front that I could see. However I had the same problem and managed to fix it using your excellent instructions!
