1815dn Network Scan setup

Question

Hi everyone, trying to setup network scanning and can't find the printer using the Network Scan Manager. It keeps on telling me that it can't find a device. Am I missing a step i.e. something to do on the control panel on the printer ?

Hmm.. Tried on another PC and it worked. Can't get it to work on mine. Trying on yet another one. It works. Hmmm, there must be some security settings.

Check the firewall settings. I know in the 1600 firewalls definately affect the network scanning.

Hi everyone,
trying to setup network scanning and can't find the printer using the Network Scan Manager.
Same issue as janwwww.
I installed on a second PC --> same problem.
On both (DELL) PCs (XP Pro- Windows firewall off), it keeps on telling me that it can't find a device.

Am I missing something ? on the PC ? On the printer ?
Could not find this issue discribed on Dell support !

So far only one PC does not work and it's mine. But I am running so many things as a Net Admin I guess that must cause some issues. I would try yet another PC. We've tried a few PCs and it worked OK. Somebody should rewrite the manual :-) Thx

Hi everybody

Had the DELL french support on the phone.
Just download the drivers from DELL's FTP server. Even if the version is the same as on the disk provided with the printer, slight mod has been made and it works perfect now
