3100 Printer- Help! Ink and Envelope Problem
I am having so much trouble with my 3100cn Printer...I'm ready to toss it out the window! Three major problems:
-It will not allow me to print A2 envelopes (around 4 3/4 by 5 3/8). Does anyone know how to do this? It keeps saying the size isn't recognized.
-When printing on anything other than regular paper, the ink in the bottom left corner rubs off. Especially if it is dark like brown or black. This is especially true with cardstock or metallic paper.
-At times, the image that was previously printed appears faded in the background of the next print job.
I purchased this printer for a new business I opened and I cannot tell you how many (expensive) envelopes and how much (expensive) paper I have ruined. I can't be selling this type quality material to my clients. Does anyone have any solutions or advice? If not, does anyone have another brand that might work better? This is causing way too much stress and is just not worth the money.

When you change to a paper type that differs from the standard Plain 1, do you change the paper type on the printer? If the printer is not compensating for the change in media, this will definately cause quality issues.
The ghosting effct you are getting can be caused by your consumables reaching end of life.(drum, transfer roller) Power supply can cause this as well, but given your description, I am inclined to think it might be the consumable option.
I am not going to be able to ffer suggestions on the envelope problem. No experience in that regard.
