3100cn memory enhancements-what RAM type?

Hi,
I purchased a 3100cn, which I find pretty cool.
Now I'm thinking about adding more memory to it. What kind of Ram is needed?
SO-DIMM Ram as for notebooks? SDRAM or DDR-RAM?
Anything special to consider?
Any problems arising using standard (non-Dell approved) modules?

I bought a 256 MB stick of SO-DIMM PC 133 SDRAM from my local computer supply store - plugged it in and worked just fine.

This sound pretty simple. I tried to find the specifications on the Dell pages and failed. What you report is identical to the Kingston Memory configurator for this printer:
It's a simple 128/256/512 MB SO-DIMM, PC133, SDRAM (no DDR-RAM).
I think I'll walk by my computer store around the corner and buy one tomorrow.

Go to Dell, start to order a printer, and where they list the option to add RAM, click the "product details" link.

For 128 MB they report:

Package Type: 144-pin SODIMM
Logical Type: 16x64
Speed: 100 MHz
Description: Standard 144-pin SODIMM

For 256MB and 512 MB they report 133 MHz (not that the speed difference should matter). However, I've found meeting the Logical Type (128MB=16x64, 256MB=32x64, 512MB=64x64) is important.

100Mhz is sufficient? That's cool! all the other information I found were referring to 133Mhz.

However, I just purchased a standard laptop S=-DIM SDRAM, 133Mhz, 128MB at ebay for 13EUR and it's working without any problems.

Just picked up 144-pin SODIMM 133 mHz 256 MB DIMM from NewEgg.com (the best online retailer I've come across...fast shipping standard...two days from California to my doorstep in Colorado) for $39.88 w/shipping (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=20-223-016&depa=0).

Christopher,
I got the PC133 memory to add to my 3000cn printer, but the printer settings still show 64mb. How to I get the printer to recognize it has new brain power?

From my recollection, it should just see the new RAM once added. Power off the printer, reseat the RAM, then power back on.
