3115 Login Error when scanning
Hello All,
I have a 3115 that I have been using on my network for about a year with no problems. Last week one of my users could no longer scan - the error 016-782 comes up with the message Login Error. I have checked to make sure that the password is set properly in the address book on the printer. I even removed that user from the Server Address list and added it again - no luck. The user has a folder locally on the computer and it is set to share. I even created a new folder and set it to share and changed the Server Address for that user to point to that folder - sames results. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rob
Have you used a $ after the folder share name?
If so, remove share, then re-share the folder without the $.
Worked for me!

I had the same problem. Eventually, here's what solved it:
1. I went into the folder properties for the destination folder, clicked the Sharing tab, then Share. I typed my domain username in the field and clicked Add, then clicked Share and Done.
2. Next, I clicked Advanced Sharing, then Permissions.
3. Then I clicked on my username (if you're user isn't in there, you'll want to add them) and checked all the boxes under Allow. By default, only Read gets checked, and this was the critical step I missed the first time. Then I clicked OK, and OK.
BTW, I am running Windows 7 Professional, so the steps may be a bit different if your user has a different operating system.
