If you are running a DHCP network, each computer you are needing to scan to must be set statically so the settings are constant in the EWS (printers web interface). The settings are key to scanning over the network with this unit. This printer works beautifully with a scan server and setting each person a folder.
Server address = scan to computers IP address, loging name (case sensitive) = computers network login name (if on a doamin: server\username), if there is a password to log onto this computer - input the exact password. The scan to folder needs to be on a root drive (c) and must be shared for everyone to have (must have read / write access). Normally technical support has some walk throughs to install thep rinter in this method along with proper steps for the user to scan to the computer.
If using vista or Windows 7 - you must have a password to scan to the computer.
From the operator panel of the printer: choose scan, network computer, computer name that was input in the EWS, then you should be able to start the scan.
All of this information is from past installs of this machine, so I could be slightly off on the exact names in some instances.
