Having problem with black toner -- original problem was nothing that had black would print -- after diagnosing found that the black toner was not being delivered through the toner holder assembly tube -- replaced that entire unit -- now getting some black print but not as dark as it should be -- all other colors are coming out normally.  Have tried new image drum and transfer roller -- no change -- I kind of suspect the black toner developer unit know but anyone else have any ideas?????

Tks,

Yes, it sounds like the black developer assy may be defective. One thing you might want to try first is ensuring that ALL the HV and ground contacts between the Developers, the developer frame, and the Imaging drum unit are CLEAN !!!

Have you verified the Toner Supply motor is turning and actually driving the toner down thru the auger tube? It can be tested by using Diagnostic Mode> IOT tests> Digital Output tests> DO-4e. You should be able to hear the motor and if you look at the supply tube, you should see the auger spring moving. Let me know if you need more instruction on how to do this.

(p.s., don't run this for an extended period of time or the toner supply tube can "over-pack")

The doors need to be closed or the interlock cheated for any of the "DO" tests to run.
