A960 connecting to a US Robotics 5610 Wireless Router

:manhappy:

I had connected a Dell A960 to the back of the US Robotics wireless router 5610. THis has a print server. It worked like a charm and I was able to print using 4 computers connected by wireless network.

I was changing some printer settings and now I cannot print. I have tried resetting the printer, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer etc...no dice.

Can someone tell me where to look and how to fix this ...

Thanks !!!

Un-installing the printer doesn't always work, especially with Vista machines.

Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer.

Restart your computer.

Download the proper drivers

XP Drivers

Vista 32-bit Drivers

Now to correct your wireless router. These are the recommended settings to use so everything communicates properly.

Update the firmware in your wireless router. Manufacturer's website, make & Model needed.

Broadcast SSID(You may want to change this to make it easier to connect)

Use WPA Security. Most wireless devices work best with this type of security.

Mixed b and g mode(n if available)

Use channels 1, 6 or 11. Most devices work better on these channels.

Save and exit. Power everything off for 30 seconds. Power everything back on, wait 30 seconds, now try to connect.

Make sure the print server in the wireless router that the settings are correct.

Install the proper drivers, choose network, choose using a wireless print server and follow the instructions.

Hello Pudgyone...

I have tried all the steps you mentioned. Thanks..

However, I still have no success in being able to print while the printer is connected to the back of the router. Did any of the recent Dell drivers / firmware upgrades disable this functionality ??

If you have your computer setup to update the drivers, it's possible that Microsoft updated you with the wrong drivers. You can tgry rolling back the drivers or better yet, if this worked nefore, then use system restore and go back to when this worked. If it fails, then you may just have to start over from the begining. Since you didn't mention if you're using Vista or not, To remove the printer, especially Vista, you MUST run the patch to completely remove the printer from the computer, then restart. Wireless router needs WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security, Mixed mide, channels 1, 6 or 11 only. I had a Netgear wireless rouer and now own a Linksys wireless router. I used these settings for my home wireless network. I have a 3300 wireless print server connected to my Dell Photo AIO Printer 964 and have not had any problems with these settings.
