AIO 924 not compatible with windows 7?

I got a new computer that has windows 7. I'm trying to hook up my printer that is AIO 924. Its saying that its not compatible. Anything I can do so I don't have to buy a new printer? Help!

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs in the queue.

 

Disconnect the printer.

 

Download and run the patch(printer clean up utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

 

Restart your computer.

 

Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).

Hello Rick,

I have call Dell (France) who says me, that it is impossible that i use my printer Dell 924 with my computer Samsung windows 7, 64bits.

Before i had a computer Dell and all works.

I try all, that you recommend in all the forum about  924 but,  impossible : the printer doesn't work.

The printer is identify by my computer, but the messag is "une erreur empêche l'imprimante de fonctionner" = "an error stop printer from working".

Perhaps Samsung is incompatible with Dell 924 ? And the problem isn't windows 7 ?

What do you think about this ?

On my computer i have two internet explorer in 32 and in 64 bits, perhaps for help the downloads...

Please, excuse me for my bad english, and in advance thank you so much for your answer !

Please run Finding System Information remove your product ID and post it back here. Also provide which virus protection and firewall you're using.

 

Start, in search type Internet

 

You should see three versions of Internet Explorer. You want to use Internet Explorer without the (64-bit) after it. Internet Explorer (64-bit) does NOT support flash player. You will not be able to see flash objects and videos using the 64-bit browser.

Virus protection is MacAfee, but the 5 March it will be stop, macafee was in my computer when i bought it.

If it's necessary i can remove it.

After, i'll use a free virus program called : Avast or another, Antivir, as a virus protection,

and Microsoft Security Essentials as a firewall.

The above information is for my reference about your computer and operating system.

 

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs in the queue.

 

We need to do a little cleanup on your computer. You want to remove McAfee, so let's do that now.

 

Start, control panel, programs and features, McAfee, uninstall.

 

Restart your computer, when prompted. Download the McAfee Removal tool and run it. This will remove anything that was left that needs to be removed. Restart your computer when McAfee Removal tool is finished.

Avast, Antivir and Microsoft Essentials are all virus programs. You should ONLY use one. I have been using Avast for a long time, along with Windows Firewall and have no problems.

 

You now have to decide which virus program to download and install. After you decide which virus program you're going to use, then we can proceed with installing the printer. I will need to know which Virus program you installed. Avast and Microsoft Essentials seem to be the most popular.

I use Delete Print Jobs, then

I use CCleaner to uninstall :
Dell photo AIO Printer 924 and ABBY FineReader 6.0 Sprint
(I had installed them having read your explanations in the forum)

for information : Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile is on my computer
(i had installed it having read your expla...)

Then i download the McAfee Removal tool and i run it.

Now i have installed AVAST.

Thank you so much for giving your full attention to my printer's problem.

No, i just say you all what i do.

But i dont'  try to install, alone, the printer.

You write me :  "After you decide which virus program you're going to use, then

we can proceed with installing the printer. I will need to know which Virus program you installed"

So, i waiting you!

Sorry for the confusion.

 

First, let's make sure your computer has the latest Windows Updates, especially .net framework, needed to run many applications and the latest Java.

 

Disconnect your printer.

 

Download and run this patch(printer cleanup utility) until it promtps you to restart your computer.

 

Restart your computer.

 

Download the Vista 64-bit drivers and install them in the Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(pwoered on)
