AIO 942 Communication Error
I have a Dell AIO 942 printer. Worked great with my dell computer. Recently, I just updated my motherboard and processor, and now my printer will not work. My computer recognizes it, i've installed the latest driver, and I can set it as my default printer, but when I try to print, it tells me I may have a communication error. It's USB connected, I'm using XP, and I have an ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2 LGA 775 VIA PT880 Pro/PT880 Ultra ATX Intel Motherboard.

When you installed the mobo & processor, did you re-install the system? If so, did you install the drivers this way?
Order to install drivers in Dell computers
Please download the drivers and install in this order
Desktop System Software or Notebook System Software
Chipset or SMBus driver
Processor Driver (if applicable)
Video
Audio (sound)
Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
Modem
Network Card
If you installed everything, then try installing your printer this way.
Disconnect your printer. Go to start/programs/Dell printers and un-install your printer.
Restart your computer.
Now go to drivers and downloads/select product/printers/select your printer. Download drivers, Utilities, firmware and Patches. From what I see, the patch is to remove the printer.
Install your printer drivers. You'll be prompted when to connect it.
Then install the firmware.

Yes, I reinstalled XP with an OEM disc. I then installed all the mobo drivers from the provided disc.
Also, I installed everything on that list. I even took the original driver utility disc and installed the printer driver. Then, I downloaed the only file available on the Dell support website for my printer, unzipped it, then installed it. Still the same thing, I print something from Word, the printer icon in the bar in the lower right hand corner shows up, but no printing happens. And every few minutes, a box pops up saying Communication Error, continue or cancel printing.
