There is no error code listing in the Dell manual.

But, I found this by doing a google search for your error code.

"I called Dell and they told me to turn off the printer first. I then removed the power supply and pressed the power button for 15 seconds (they told me it cleared info out of the printer???). I then plugged the power back in and pressed the power button. It now works fine. No more error 2200".

Thanks for the effort!  Unfortunately,it didn't work.  The printer tries to copy, but  the scanning device isn't making a full pass and the light doesn't seem very strong.

i know its nearl 12 months down the line and you may have had it fixed or got rid, i have just bought one for work and had the same issue where the scanner, copying facility wouldn't work and i got the same message. i opened the cover (WITH THE ELECTRICITY SWITCHED OFF DO NOT ATTEMPT IT WITH THE POWER ON) as i used to service electronic equipment. at the rear left corner there is a plastic cog that turns a brass cog, this brass cog was not moving when the copy or scan button was pressed, i turned this by hand back and forth a few times which seemed to free it and the scanner copy works fine.

Try re-installing the drivers this way and see if the error message goes away.

Disconnect your printer. Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer. Restart your computer.

Download the proper drivers.

XP Drivers

Vista 32-bit Drivers

All other drivers

Install the proper drivers. You'll be prompted when to connect your printer.

Install the latest firmware for the 962 printer

Scanning

Scanning using USB connection, open the Dell All-In-One Center, click on scanning and copying and scan from there.

Scanning wirelessly, use the scan buttons on the printer.

just wanted to say that this did work for me. I have done the same thing for many other problems I had long time ago.

What exactly was it that worked for you?

Dell doesn't write drivers for Win 7 64-bit OS, apparently.  The "Patch" suggested by Pudgyone is for Vista 32-bit.  The driver suggested by Dell was dated early 2007, so heaven only knows what it was written for - probably Vista. Firmware was even older.  Didn't fix anything, though.

Rustiferion,

The procedure is to disconnect the printer. Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

The install the Vista drivers in the compatibility mode. If you have Windows 7 64-bit, then use the Vista 64-bit drivers in the compatibility mode. If you have Windows 7 32-bit, then use the Vista 32-bit drivers in the compatibility mode.

Right click on the drivers file, left click properties, left click compatibility. Change the compatibility to Vista. Then right click on the drivers, left click run as administrator.

***To install drivers, sometimes the file unzips and does nothing. You have to look for the setup.exe file, right click on it, then left click run as administrator***

When you install the drivers, then you have to wait until you get the message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)
