Please start a new post. Tell the make and model of the printer you have, operating system you're using and how you're trying to connect the printer. Wireless print adapter 3300, wireless print server or wireless printer.
Also include the make and model of your wireless router and type of security. We'll be able to help you but we try to keep some issues seperate from others.
Thanks, I have mad it to the point where the computer hositing the printer wants to install the drivers needed for the sharing process the I get an error message with a bunch of 0000000
I'm going to be honest with you. I never really setup a network for all my computer. I have a wireless print server, so this is how I share my printer with 4 laptops. So I NEVER had a host computer hooked up to a printer. I think my reasoning was I hated to have a computer turned on so the other computers could print. All I can do is provide information, unless someone else helps you.
For networking to work, you need an idenical account and password on each computer. So you need to have a Forerunner account on each computer and then setup file and print sharing. The guest account and the administrator account do not count.
If you five the exact error message with all the 000000's then we can also find out what the error is.
The basics are:
1) Establish a working wireless network (follow your manufacturers instructions) 2) Attach the printer to its host computer 3) Be able to print from the host 4) Enable File and Print sharing on the host 5) Set the printers properties to be shared 6) Add a network printer on the client via the Add Printer Wizard
ThanksI get rightto the point were the computer is getting comunicationg with the printer and get this message (Windows cannot connect to printer. Operation could ne be completed (error 0x0000000d)
I would suggest that you create a new discussion in the Network/Internet/Wireless Forum. I think someone can help you better there, since you're printer is working, Steve and other members have seen these issues and can help you better.
Make sure to include that you have your printer installed on the Host computer and want to share it with another computer. Give the operating system of both computers and please include the exact error message you're getting.
Thanks for having him got elsewhere - my thread was being hijakked before my issue was even resolved! I'm still hoping to hear from Jimmy or someone else.
Sorry, I e-mailed them and never got a reply back and forgot about it. I sent the question again and they say you have an anti virus or firewall blocking the install.
Based on your last post, I tried installing the drivers with the Windows Firewall disabled, as well as having my AVG Anti-Virus 8.0 Resident Shield disabled. This produces the same error after installation - but printing works!
I then tried updating the firmware, and that gave the same error as before, and did not work. I tried this with the Firewall and Resident Shield disabled.
It should be noted that the installation software actually says it's going to create exceptions for Windows Firewall - giving the impression that there is no need to disable it. It says that even if Windows Firewall is disabled.
I'd like to be able to install the firmware update, if you have any advice it would be appreciated.
I did your suggestion,it didnt work.I have 3 laptops ,my dell 1505 w/ xp works fine with the printer dell photo 962 aio,my HP w/vista home premium after your idea recognizes the printer but wont print. My dell 1501 w/ vista basic home won't either. No errors come up on either comp.

Maybe this is what you need. On the Vista machine, try this.
Printer Sharing on XP/Vista Network
Go to Control Panel. Choose printer. Then choose Add Printer.
Choose Add a local printer. Click on Create a new port. The default in the drop down box is Local Port. Do not change that. Click Next.
A dialogue box will appear asking for you to enter a port name.
Type in the \\computername\printername

Forerunner,
I found this for you...
Share Your Printer Over a Home Network Using Windows XP
And if that doesn't work, try Network Magic.
