Alignment Page

  Hi All,

I own a Dell V305w All-In-One printer and I have two questions I would like to share.  First, how do you disable the automatic print-out of the alignment page every time you change printer cartridges?  I believe this is a waste of ink and very tiresome.  When I print photos, I replace the black ink with the photo ink and it prints the alignment page, then when I swap them back again, it prints another one.  Can this function be disabled????

Second, When I swap the black ink cartridge for the color photo cartridge it seems like the printer is still using ink from the color cartridge on the right because the level in that one goes down pretty quickly.  Meanwhile, the level in the photo cartridge does not appear to be getting lower.  What gives???

Terry,

First question, I don't think this can be disabled, unless you turn the printer off and it does not detect the cartridge change.

Second question, I just know the Photo Cartridge goes in where the black cartridge is. NOt sure if you change anything in printer preferences before you click print.

I have found it's cheaper to put the images on a disk and get them printer at a place that you can upload the images at. The cost of the paper and the price of ink, I can do it cheaper. I do print an occasion picture but just use the normal setting on the printer, just put in photo paper.
