All-in-One 922 printer - ink cartridge

My printer has stopped working although I know there's sufficient ink in the cartridges because, i'm told, they are re-filled cartrisdges and are date-expired.  A suggestion to overcome this is to disable the printer's internal battery so that the printer can't recognise the cartidg's date, but I can't seem to find where this is.  Grateful anyone's advice on whether this will indeed solve the problem and where to find the internal battery. Thanks

I would suggest to purchase Dell Ink cartridges and swapping these in, as what you are asking for would more than likely void any warranty (is this unit still has one).

thej,

Are you using Dell Series 5 ink cartridges?

Unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the powerbrick for 60 seconds. This will reset any error message the printer is getting. Plug everything back in and power the printer on.

Open the printer with the power on and remove the Dell Series 5 black ink cartridge and make sure the tape is off the cartridge, then reseat the cartridge back in. Now do the same for the Dell Series 5 color cartridge. Now when you close the printer, it should print an alignment page. Any error messages?

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them and cannot be refilled. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges

They can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's website.

Black cartridge = black side(left side)               Color cartridge = color side(right side)

Photo cartridge = black side(left side)              Color cartridge = color side(right side)

It is also possible to get a new ink cartridge with a bad sensor. Please take it to the place of purchase for a replacement one.

My printer keeps giving me the error message "cartridge incorrect".  It is a Dell series 9 cartridge and I have a Del 922 AIO photo printer.  I don't understand what the problem could be.  I've tried unplugging and restarting the printer, but it keeps giving me the same message.  I'm at my wits end. I've searched the user's manual for the exact type of cartridge I need (series 5, 9, etc) and that was absolutely no help whatsoever. Can you possibly help me?
