Cannot print FROM Tray 1 by default

Question

We have a networked W5300 configured to print from Tray1, but every print jos says to load Letter paper in the MP tray.  We are constantly forced to manually over ride or put paper in the MP tray.   I am desparate for a solution I have tried upgrading the firmaware and resetting the driver, but to no avail.

Have you tried putting a different size paper in the MFP tray and setting the printer to reflect the difference? According to the user guide, if the drawers are set for different size paper the printer will default to the correct drawer.
