Cannot start spooler

I'm having trouble with installing drivers for my Dell Photo printer 720. I lost the cd and I need new drivers because they disappeared from my computer for some unknown reason. Every time I start up the installer, it says to click 'yes' to restart the spooler so that it can continue. All it does it take me back to my desktop doing nothing.

go to control panel, administrative tools,go to services, look for print spooler, right click on it and click on restart/start

I did do that and it cannot start it. It says:

Could not start Print Spooler on Local Computer.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.

try this:

~go to start-> run, type command, hit ok, if it brings an error, type cmd instead and then hit ok

~ on the command window type

net stop spooler

* after pressing enter, message would appear and say something like "print spooler has stopped succesfully"

on the next line type:

sc config spooler depend= RPCSS start= Auto

* after pressing enter, message would appear and say something like "sc change config success"

net start spooler

* after pressing enter, message would appear and say something like "print spooler has started .."

~remember not to have a space after depend and start when you put in the "=" sign..

Okay, that did start the spooler so thanks. But now that I'm trying to install the new drivers, setup says that it detects another Dell 720 printer driver. So I choose to just make another printer called Dell Photo Printer(2).  But when setup is finishing it then says that the print monitor is not working or something like that. The other option setup gave me back to when it detected the printer driver, it said to update the driver, so I chose that next. But then it also failed. I tried uninstalling all things related to the printer but when I tried removing it with the Remove/Change program from Windows, it said that it had some how been uninstalled and so it removed it from the list.

I'm very confused on what happened to cause this. Help would be much appreciated. I don't have the original driver CD that came with it, which led me trying to install drivers from this site. I really need this printer to work by tommorow. I absolutely have to use it tommorow.

ok..first go to add/remove programs..if you still have there the dell printer, remove it,but if its not in there anymore, check it in printers and faxes,if its in there right click on the icon and then delete it.then shutdown the system, once system is off, disconnect the usb cable, restart the system with the usb cable disconnected, once on the desktop, insert the cd(if you have it) or run the downloaded driver, then during the set up it will tell you that it cannot continue the process unless the printer is hooked up,thus connect the usb cable, then proceed with next/continue and let the set up finish the installation and in case it will still not work call dell tech support for additional troubleshooting

So how do I make it so that it appears in Printers and Faxes now? The printer is located in drive C: under Dell 720.

what do you mean its already on C:?   did you downloaded the drivers? once you run the driver installation it should automatically show the printer in the printers and faxes..if it still cannot be installed, then it means that you really have to contact their tech support for further assistance
