Converting a v305 into a wireless printer

I recently bought a V305 printer. I would like to convert it to a wireless version. I see a slot at the back of the printer and would like to know whether Dell has a wireless card that can be plugged in there.

If yes, please could someone give me the specs?

Thankyou.

No.. Unfortunately that is not a option..

Dell does has a wireless 3300 printer adapter, but V305 is not in its compatibility List...

HOWEVER, I am pretty sure that it will work... You can try your luck on that...

That doesnt look good. Online support offered the 3300 to me. But the 3300 costs $100 and does not support WPA2. On the other hand if the card was available...well we live and we learn.

Thankyou anyway.

I just checked the the details about the V305 and V305W printer and V305 cant be upgraded... You can try to exchange the printer with V305W by talking to Customer care I think.. Lemme know if that works out for you...

I have someone looking into this. If there's a slot, I feel that it probably can be upgraded, it the wireless card is available for the slot.

That would be great if you could find something out.. But, as per my resources, It cant be done.. I will tell you why..

Printer 968 comes with USB and Wireless connectivity both.. and so they have a part number for the wireless card also, so that if you want to upgrade later you can buy it... However, V305 printer is manufactured in such a way that it does not allow any hardware connections/add ons once manufacured...

Thanks & Regards

Hey, thank you guys for the interest.

Not that no hard ware can be attached - just that the (?Pseudo)slot cannot be used.I wonder how the 3300 adapter connects - USB?

Do not want to go through the hassle of return and exchange etc...

Hey there brother..

Yes the 3300 adapter coonnects to the USB port of the printer and works as the External Wireless adapter..

But lemme SUGGEST you there...

It is written on numerous places that 3300 adapter does NOT work with the V305 printer....

But if it does, then great.. Do lemme know if it works... BEST OF LUCK

Try calling Dell and see if they will exchange the V305 or the V305W

A3300 should work if your wireless router settings are correct.

Hey JM...

What was the outcome of your issue?  I also bought the V305 thinking it could be upgrade since Dell offered a Bluetooth USB when "configuring" this printer.

Did you keep it wired, upgrade somehow, exchange or return for another printer all together.

Thank you
