Dell 1250c - Paper Jam Total Nightmare
Hi all
I have the above printer and gotten a paper jam which is utterly impossible to resolve.
I have gone thru all the usual means to remove it but the jam, if it's there at all, is deep inside a completely sealed unit and I cannot, it seems, overcome the problem.
I have tried to see if removing some of the screws to open the housing up works but it's a totally sealed unit.
As there's no way to open it up to remove the jam at all and thus as far as I am concerned the printer is utterly useless - just a big black useless brick that's no use nor ornament.
Extremely unhappy and imho it's a monumental design flaw!
Please help!
Darren

Hi all again
There was a small piece of paper around the top orange roller but somehow it's cut it! After removing the paper it's still saying paper jam though but if that's the case it's behind that roller and is completely inaccessible. The other thought the roller getting cut by a single piece of paper(!) has in fact damaged the roller and it's that damage that is being stated as a paper jam.
Any thoughts; I'm tearing my hair out as to how a single paper jam can cause so many problems and issues and I thinking I'm going to have to need a brand new printer because of 1 paper jam! I wold expect Dell to help if this is the case.

Hello Darren,
Thank you for posting to the forum. Unfortunately there are many factors that can cause a fuser to fail, causing a tear in the roller. This can cause debris to get stuck in a sensor or even damage internal components. Your best resolution at this point is to replace the unit. I understand this may not be the answer your seeking and for that I do apologize.

Hello,
I have run into this same design flaw. A piece of paper was accordioned tightly into the sealed fuser unit and could not be removed by any visible means. After reading this forum and other pages on this issue, and thinking the printer to be a total loss, I pried off all the trim around the top of the printer, and then pried away at the back of the unit until I could lift the top surface high enough to get tweezers into the sealed unit and removed the paper. The printer has recovered and works correctly now, but I remain unhappy that this type of paper jam is not serviceable by the user.
Best wishes,
Lori
