Dell 1320C Network Printer - Cannot get it on network - printer config page says "Network: not available"

All,

I have a dell 1320C network printer that I'm trying to move to my home network and thought it would be easy, lol.... it is plugged into an SMCD3GNV gateway via network cable via ethernet cable. Lights (both rx and tx) are lighting up appropriately on the ports on both sides.

I have tried the following:

1. Checked gateway and verified DHCP is working by plugging in another device. I also looked to see if there were any devices in there that looked like the printer - nope. Also verified the router's firewall was not blocking any local network ports.

2. Checked ethernet cable by plugging it into another device. Re-terminated both ends myself for good measure.

3. Performed a factory reset on the printer.

4. Googled a bunch.

No go.

So the following questions, that I was not able to find on my searches:

1. Is there a hidden default IP address for this thing, that I can just connect a crossover cable directly into my PC and check if it works that way?

2. Is there a DIP SW I have to hit on the main board in the printer to enable it? Anyone have any technical blueprints for the printer? Have run into this before with other devices, and it seems weird that the network status on the printer didn't even print me a MAC address (nor is one on the tag)

Thanks in advanced.

bump, still need help with this. I really need to move this printer to a more centralized part of the home, and to do this effectively, it needs to be a LAN printer.
